I was on a diet for a month and a half and only lost 3 pounds help!!!?

I was on a diet for a month and a half exercising 3 times a week and only lost two pounds. Most of family is overweight what can I do?? My problem area are my thighs and butt. I have such a big butt, and even though i get compliments on it, i need it to be a little smaller and loose all the thighs. But with a strict diet of only eating one salad a day and exercising three times a week i only lost 3 pounds and it just makes me want to give up! Could my overweight be genetic. I am 5' 2" and weigh 170 and i want to weigh no more than 140 pounds. What are good diets or maybe pills or herbs or specific exercises that might work and how many times a week? please help me!!!!

I think you need to detox. Toxins that the liver could not cope with are stored in fat. There comes a point after losing some weight where the fat cells refuse to let go and hold onto their load stubbornly in their attempt to protect your body. Detoxing allows the fat cells to let go and cleanses the entire system. This a detox diet, so you are cleaning out your system at the same time that you are losing weight. None of the vital food sources are left out.Search the web for 'cabbage soup diet'. There are a few variations of the cabbage soup itself so pick the one with the ingredients you prefer and then follow the seven day plan, which is the same for all of them. It works, I know because I use it every now and again. (And have been for many years) Mainly after Christmas. And don't worry, you don't ONLY eat cabbage. You lose 5kg+ in one week. (+- 11 lbs) but obviously only if you follow it strictly! (And drink lots of water! Possibly set an alarm on your handy that will beep you every hour during the day, then drink a glass of water. Many people say they forget to drink water until they are thirsty which is too late) .Don't forget that this IS a Diet and not meant to be continued for weeks on end. After you have lost the weight required, you must evaluate your eating/exercise habits and make consequent changes if you don't want to gain it back.Good luck
Was one salad your entire meal for the day?If so, you slowed your metabolism by putting yourself in starvation mode. You have to eat more, 6 small, healthy meals a day.Also, exercising 3 times a week will maintain your weight.
you still lost something =]people comploment you though! thats great! are you sure youre overweight? you may be actually healthy, and therefor have trouble losing wieght since you dont need to? you could do your bmi, that is a good guide line, search for one on google, there are sites that you can find out your bmi on the net.high mentabolism is needed to burn calories, which then you will lose weight.

Your diet was wrong...try eating 6 small meals a day. One meal could be anything from a slim fast or a small amount of grapes. Alot of women do have problems in those areas you mentioned just like men have problems with the mid section. Bump your work out routine to 4 times a week focusing on cardi sessions that last about 30-40 minutes. Remember you could always switch from treadmill to elliptictal to bike to keep it fresh. If you do any lifting keep it light and high reps, become best freinds with the lunge. Really sqeeuze your glutes through the movement. Good Luck
well, i learn that if u drink the number of ounce of water equal to your weight daily you'll lose weight in just 1 week (very effective and a bit suffering because you'll go to bathroom a lot). also swimming is an exercise that help your whole body lose weight but you'll get hungry after swimming maybe eat more at breakfast and moderate at lunch and not too much for dinner, if you eat a lot at dinner make sure its at least 3-4 hours before bedtime or your dinner will become fat with you over night.
you were definetely in starvation mode, and your body hangs on to all the weight because it thinks you are starving. i highly recommend weight watchers, It is worth the money, i did it and learned a lot about portions and measuring, went from 176 to 136, Don't give up!!! and don't take pills that will make you sick
