I need to lose over 100 lbs?

please no harsh comments. im going to be 22 yrs old im 5'7-5'8 and go anywhere from 270-290. i have been over weight my whole life and i really want to lose weight. im engaged to a wonder man and we want a family someday. i want to be healthy for him and our kids and myself. thats so much weight to lose. id like to weigh 150 or less. has anyone lost over 100 lbs or even close? and if so how? tips? advice?

I found a great way to lose weight fast and keep it off. I do body cleansing. I lost 13 pounds in 9 days and then 28 pounds in less than a month. Cleansing will help the body get rid of impurities. Stay focused on your goal and be dedicated. I personally don't want to say what I need to lose, but it can seem impossible at first. You will settle into your routine before you know it.

i'm not saying it is easier but people who start losing weight at a much higher weight like yours are very more inclined to continue the weight loss if you can begin it because you will see results fairly fast per week. basically in the first few weeks you have to wean off of sugary things, sodas, even diet ones, and anything that has transfats, it is summer now so there should be a good amount of fruit although still fruit contains high amounts of natural sugar. you should also start taking walks and check yourself on the scale daily so you can see what sorts of things work for your body and don't. the best thing would just to realize what is and isn't good for your body a lot of times people lose weight for their physical image but don't realized that losing weight healthily can also change your energy level and make your body much healthier on the inside as well as make you look great on the outside. *drink lots of water
*don't cut off things immediately wean off of them so you develop a healthy relationship with desserts and treats. when you cut things off you often feel restricted or eventually binge on them. take a walk for about 30 minutes or walk in place during a television show. when you start to see results you'll be happy and you'll be more motivated to make changes to your life style. you shouldn't do anything too dramatic since its a life change not a quick fix.
my friend i cant tell you anything you probally havent heard but a lot of it takes a lot of determination. just dont try to overload yourself when you start working out,i learned this first hand when i returned from deployment i tried to pick up where i left off and it didnt go to well.now im starting to just walk on the treadmill for 1/2 hour a night until i can get my body ready to start running again. i can relate to your story. i was a heavy kid when i was younger then i took up boxing and dropped a ton of weight. it took a while and a little work but believe me it'll work out in the long run. dont be ashamed. and dont let other peoples opinions keep you from being happy. if your partner obviously thinks your good enough to marry you cant be all that bad. paul
Set smaller goals along the way and reward yourself when you reach those goals. Try not to reward yourself with food, use something like a new necklace. Also set larger goals and give larger rewards for those. For instance, if I go all day without over eating, and I exercise all week, then on Friday, I let myself by a magazine. If I lose ten percent of my starting weight, I get to splurge on a day at a spa. Avoid soda, even diet can make you gain weight. I also highly highly highly recommend Weight Watchers. It was actually recommended by my doc and is great, easy to follow and allows flexibility in food. Also, use smaller dishes, you will be more aware of how much you are eating. And, Animal crackers are a great snack when you want to et just to eat. ANd, do not allow yourself to sit and watch tv. If you have to watch tv, fold laundry or do something else. Put your fork down between each bite adn SLOW down eating. ALso, drink a huge glass of water before eating and drink while eating, you feel full sooner. I like to drink a bottle of water, then eat a bunch of vegies that I like first and then I can eat something else. I also try to take a drink every 2-3 bites. Good luck with it!! Remember to take baby steps! My motivaation - my kids, think of the kids you want to have one day and remember they learn their eating habits by age 3 from you and dad. Also, it is hard work running after children and you really will not want all that extra weight when you are trying to find your 2 year old who is somewhere running around like crazy without a diaper on! :-)
