one thing that is stopping me from doing this is that i feel sooo terrible in a swim suit, how do i overcome that horrid feeling of walking to the water !!!
Answer:
I have seen lots of bodies at the pool doing laps. You need to take the plunge, so to speak and then you will get over your shyness.
That being said, swimming is not as effective as other forms of exercise. I am not saying that it would not work. Your body needs the fat for buoyancy and insulation therefore it works against the weight-loss process. Sure competitive swimmers have bodies to die for, but rigorous training is the reason for that. Swimming is a good way to get back into physical activity because the water supports your weight, the sweat factor is taken care of and there is something soothing about being in the water. It will also give you confidence in your physical abilities. Good luck with your exercise program!
Yes it would help be happy in urself
x
dont worry
lock on the fridge seems like the logical way to get thinner
yes swimming is good but if you don't feel comfortable, try jumproping... it helps alot. good luck
Swimming would definitely help, it works most of the muscles in your body. As for the self confidence issue if your using a community pool then I would suggest going early in the morning because only the really serious swimmers are there and they aren't looking at you their concentrating. Otherwise just tell yourself that you working on losing weight and suck it up (not literally).
It will defitnaly help. Don't care what other people think about u in a swimsuit, becuase there are worse out there and they don't care. And they will see that u r at least making an effort to loose weight.
Yes swimming will be very helpful. don't feel embarrassed about being over weight at the pool rather be proud of yourself for the fact that you are doing some thing about it. Swimming isn't a high impact exercise so it is gentle on you joints which is very good. Even if you can only do a lap or two just keep up the movement, jumping, bouncing, while you are doing that push your arms back and forth in the water also do stretches, go to the side of the pool and hold on then lay flat, start kicking as if you are swimming do that as long as you can. I think too because the water has a high resistance it is good for you muscles too and will make you stronger. Good luck
