I really want to get into shape before summer, what workouts should i do?

I really need to get rid of some belly fat and love handles or whatnot, I despise running though. Should I just focus on pushups and situps? Or is there something I am missing. I'll do pretty much anything here except run. Help is much appreciated. Muscles are my friend. =) Thanks everyone

I think swimming is the all around best workout without the high impact on your bones and joints. I love to get in the pool and powerwalk before I go gung-ho doing laps, the fantastic thing is it's easy to take a break because you can just lay back and float and relax before you power at it again.

Technically speaking, you do not need to exercise to lose the belly fat and love handles. You are able to, if you are disciplined, to eat right and maintain a lean, healthy body. The problem is, you are eating and/or drinking too much. Exercise helps because it burns excess calories that you are taking in, and may build or tone your muscles.So, what you have to do first is examine what you are eating. Are you eating a breakfast that is high in protein and good carbohydrates (like oatmeal)? Are you eating mostly fish and vegetables for lunch and dinner? If not -- start with that. Have egg whites and oatmeal for breakfast, and salad/vegetables and fish/chicken for lunch and dinner.Second, cut out all snacks if they are not vegetables. No potato chips, sweets, or anything else.Third, take a multi-vitamen daily and drink a generous quantity of water every day.Fourth - exercise -- if you want to burn you gut fat and your love handles you should do cardio - walk, jog, bike ride, or use the machines at the gym. Do an hour per day of that.You do those four things, and I guarantee you will slim down.
