I am trying to lose 10 pounds. I cut out all soda and only drink water. I am also only eating between 1500 and 1000 calories a day. I haven't lost any weight yet. Any suggestions on how to speed this process along? I am 5'6 and 134 pounds.

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried - no junk food.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself with a little snack once in a while:)
Get some physcial activity in. Even if its just taking the stairs instead of the elevator, get your heart rate up and pumping. Also, little things like squats or situps help your muscles get stronger and essentially burn more calories throughout the day.
The first thing that catches my eye is the amount of calories your eating. If you are not eating enough healthy calories then your body will store fat. The GI Diet is and excellent book on what foods to eat, when and how often.
Are you exercising? Walking is one of the best you can do but I highly recommend doing exercises that build muscle. Muscle is a calorie furnace. When building muscle don't go so much by weight as by your waist size and how your clothes fit.Hope this answer helps.
