I want to buy an home elliptical machine. I exceed the max. weight by 30lbs. Do you think, I can still use it

max. weight 250 lbs. my weight 275
Answer:
try to lose 30lbs another way, THEN buy the eliptical. i wouldnt test it...if you thought it worked and then were doing your workout and mid-way it broke that could lead to a pretty serious injury!
I would ask a salesperson.
See if you can find a place to try the machine out yourself. That's really the best way. If you feel comfortable using it, then you're good. Most machines are built for more use than one person can give them anyway. However, if while using it, you feel like the machine isn't stable or sturdy enough, find another model.

You can shed a lot of weight by just going for a walk each day. Little by little, increase your speed %26 distance. Buy yourself a good pair of "walking shoes" (I wear New Balance, as my doctor recommended them) before you start a walking program. You will need to learn which stretching exercises are best before walking each day or you'll end up with painful shin splints. Once you have lost a fair amount of weight, then you can switch to an eliptical machine or treadmill, if you don't want to walk outside. Good luck!
