I recently went on a health kick, and dropped 10 lbs in 2 and half weeks. I'm 16, and now I'm the perfect weight of 175 lbs. Im 6 feet tall, and im heavy due to muscle, but i wanted to slim down a little bit. Now that i've lost all this weight, my mom keeps telling me how im too thin, im too thin. But i know that im the perfect weight, and there is no way 175 lbs is too skinny. My mom is a little bit overweight, and she has been struggling to lose weight. I try to be supportive, but now that ive lost this weight, i feel like she is a little bit jealous. What do i do?
Answer:
Encourage her when she makes healthy lifestyle choices, especially in food. Ask her to go walking with you once in awhile; in other words, include her and give praise, praise, praise when you see her acting on it. It does not hurt to compliment her on her looks, buy her a little something once in awhile, and make her feel that she is pretty and attractive, too.
tell her that you can lose weight with you so she won't be so lonely while doing ti herself
she may be since she is struggling to lose the weight. So I would tell your mom how she just isn't used to your new physique and she will get used to it.
I can relate because my sister lost 42 lbs over the course of almost a year and I am strangely jealous! Which is ridiculous since she worked so hard and deserves it while I did nothing and am still fat.
well theres a rough type of people: either you tall and skinney(me) or (failry)short and(farily) fat and theres a middle
The only thing that I could think to do would be to try and ignore the things she says. Dont acknowledge her comments at all; dont give her any reaction. Try your best to completly ignore it and just go about your day. Sometimes when people cannot get a rise out of you, theyll stop what they are doing. Congrats on the weight loss and the confidence, its so great to see that on this forum!
