When I was 7 (In year 2), I was the tallest girl in my grade.
Now I'm in Year 7 (I'm 12) and i'm the shortest.
Last Year (Year 6), EVERYONE seemed to shoot up about 5 inches.
Last year, I grew 5 centimetres.
This year, all of my friends are 165 cms +.
I am only 148 !
It's annoying me, because I always have to look up at people, and people are always saying,
"Why are you so short?".
It's like all the short people became tall people and all the tall people became short people.
Why?
I know I eat more fruits and vegetables. These kids live on junk food. I don't eat any junk food.
What's up with that??
Answer:
You can't change your genes. You just have to learn to live with your height. And by the way there are advantages to being short.
1. You will always have a guy that's taller than you.
2. You won't have to bend when walking under trees.
3. Shorter fall to the ground.
4.You don't hit your head so often.
5. You can get in places at kids prices.
6. You get less headaches because you dont bump you head against everything.
7. You can wear high heels without worrying that you're now taller than you're boyfriend.
8. You are able to squeeze through crowds.
9. You look younger than you are.
10. Leg room is rarely a problem
11. You don't have to bend down to talk to people very often
12. It's easier to shorten pants than to lengthen them So cheer up and learn to except who you are!! =D
Same thing happened to me. I was the tallest up until sixth grade. Seventh grade came and it seemed that over the summer everyone had seriously grown. You may be destined for shortness or just a "late bloomer". Don't worry about it. You'll probably grow over the summer.ETA: Unfortunately, I am small and petite. 5'1" Seems like I quit growing at 13. Oh and I'm 26 so it's pretty much a lost cause now.
.USE A LOT OF MILK...
Look at your parents and you will be something inbetween - a doctor can more or less work it out for you - and children grow in different spurts - so stop worrying.
This is the one thing that has puzzled me since 6th grade i was the tallest in my class and then suddenly became the shortest i am now 19 and i haven't grown a inch since then i think it might have something to do with genes...
ohh i know how you feel,it is difficult, but people grow at different rates and most teenagers do make a big spurt at some where between the ages of 12 and 16 you will too really. But as some one else said look at your parents if they are tall you will probably be tall if not you will be similar to them most girls grow to be about 3 or 4 cm taller than their mother and boys about the same or a little more than their father. you can also help yourself by eating protein and calcium helps grow muscle and bone and don't worry too much about junk food at the moment if you want some have it as long as its not too often. finally if you are going to stay short dont worry you know what they say about good things coming in small packages and you can always wear high shoes to help a bit.
if you still havent grown much in the next year and you are still concerned you can always ask a doctor, but ti think he will give the same advice
girls stop growing taller when they reach 18 ,so you have 6 more years to %26lt;add%26gt; to your height.it is good that you do not eat junk food.there are not good for a growing body like yours.try eating more proteins and growth food that makes bones stronger...and maybe %26lt;hang%26gt; around bars at the gym...that helped me a bit = )it is not wrong in being short or small.maybe it is in your family genes.small/short people have so much advantages and much more fun too!we are also always very cute = )and most importantly...we are not short ,just undertall...
Sorry kid, no easy answer here. Kids grow unevenly, and at different times. You may be done growing if you are one of those who mature early, or , you may grow quite a bit more. I was shortest in my class (girls included) until my last year of high school. Now, as an adult, I'm about average. My son was tallest early in grade school, then didn't grow much for several years, then shot past most of his classmates in high school, and didn't stop growing until 22. Although height is genetically determined, your parents may not be a good indicator either, the height (or lack of it) can come from further back in family tree. I'm 5'8", my wife is 5'5". Our daughter is 5'2", and our son is 6'3".I'm not sure if its an old wives tale, but supposedly doubling a childs height at a certain age (somewhere around age 2 or 3) will give the child's ultimate height. Maybe someone else on Answers has more data on that.
