I walk a mile and a half everyday i want to lose 40 lbs how long will it take?i walk at a very fast pace?
Answer:
It depends on how long you have been excercising and the speed of your metabolism. If you have been working out for a while now then the results will not be noticed as quickly as they would if you are just starting. That's because when you are just starting to be active after not doing so for a long time your body is shocked and has to use a lot of energy to repair itself and to maintain the level of activity that you are at when exercising. If you've been doing it for a while then your body will be more used to it and will not burn as many calories unless you change up your routine. Your weight has a lot to do with it too. If you don't weigh much then your body won't let you lose a lot of weight without a really serious and harmful diet. I would guess that on average, if you exercise the way that you say and you eat proportionate and healthy meals you will lose that weight in a between 2 and 4 months. I can't really be too specific because I don't know your situation. If you send me a message I can give you better help and advice. I would suggest that you try to do the exercise first thing in the morning on an empty stomache. That way you will burn energy stored in your body instead of burning the calories from food that you ate earlier in the day before your workout.
you should walk for 45 minutes every day
1 month Maybe ?!
Make it 15 miles a day and you will lose the 40 pounds in six weeks.
Everyone is different. Just keep at it
Diet and excercise excercise is not enough alone you have to eat right ot also for the whole walking thing that is crap no offense why dont you run instead
Forever. The only way to lose weight is calorie restriction.
Just assume at the healthiest way..1lb per week...= 40 wks.
Add some crunches to your routine, your body will get used to the walking eventually making it harder for you to loose the rest of the weight. Run for a minute or 2 periodically during your walk.
Depends on what you are eating. Losing weight is all about burning calories. Burn more than you are taking in. Make sure to eat a lot of healthy meals and drink a lot of water. It shouldn't take that long. It also depends on your age.
it depends on what you consume. if you can increase it to 2 miles per night and eat less, which you will because you're motivated.it will take 4-4.5 months.i lost 30lbs last summer that way.best of luck
A veeeeeeeeery long time, it doesnt matter how fast you walk. youll loose a little weight but not enough. the fastest way to loose that much weight is to drink a lot of water ( about 1 gal. or more a day) and run, drinking the water will help you sweat more, and the more you sweat, the more weight you loose! good luck!
hi there; yes you can try to walk fast, just don't put to much pressure aganist your heart that is not healthy but also try watching what your eating?usally that means staying away from what you may like the most.I know you've heard it all before.but now listen if you happen to have problems with your thyroid glang that can also cause weight gain. be safe.
I've heard of one program called 10K steps, which is to walk 10,000 steps per day. Not only by doing the walking in exercise, but also counting your daily activities. While I don't know the details, it sounds like it's pretty successful. To find out how many calories you will burn, here is a guide to calorie burning.http://www.howstuffworks.com/framed.htm?...If you follow their links, there is a place to enter in your activities. Just remember that as you lose weight, your body needs less calories. That means that as you lose weight, you are "allowed" less calories per day to maintain weight, so you have to increase more exercise or reduce calorie intake to compensate.Good luck to you!
the more you exercise the more your metabolism goes up and the faster you can lose weight. if you weight train and start gaining muscle after losing the fat then you will start gaining weight again because muscle weighs more then fat.
Walking is a very slow way to lose weight for those lazier people out there.
Just run.
You'll waste less time and burn more fat.
And eating less always helps too.
the female body is totally against us ..if you do it the healthy way (eating right and exercising reg) 3-4 monthsit seems that only men lose 30 pounds in a month i witness that
it's not necessarily how fast you go, it's more about distance and time combined with intensity. 1 mile and a half isn't very far, but if your just starting out, it is fine. try to work up to 3-5 miles and within a year you could be walking as far as 8-10 miles. the longer you walk, the more calories you burn.
The walking is good, tones muscles, but in order to lose 40 lbs, you need to cut down on calories, Eat smaller meals, and do some research as to nutritional content of the food you consume. And drink water.
