I want a flat stomach, what exercises should I be doing? I have a bad back so I cant do sit ups! Help please!

Answer:
Don't do situps... take it slow!! Don't rush.Don't even jog, Don't even do pushups since you have a bad back.I suggest stretching your arms, legs, and slowly stretch your back 10min a day until it recovers, do not go over 10min!. Also meditate for 10 minutes of deep breathing exercises because that will benefit the lungs to get more energy levels throughout the body, nervous system and to the brain improving memory and concentration. So just really take it slow since you have a bad back... don't do any physical exercises.
well i have a bad back too but as soon as i can i am getting the ab lounge i tried it in the store it was pretty good maybe you can get one go to your local sporting goods store and see if they have it and try it out if you like it and you can use it why not buy it if you want to
running or at least some high level cardio exercise for a least 30 mintutes to an hour a day for at least 3 days a week.also eating, your diet will be just as important, the same routine you probably heard about eating healthy.sit-ups and all of that are cool, but it won't remove the fat that is covering the adominal muscles, "target" exercising is just a myth, it only works with muscle building, not fat loss.
Hi. Try yoga and pilates. Both are easily modified for body limits, stretch your muscles and teach you better posture to help use your core muscles to make your stomach flatter. check out videos from the library to "test drive" them before u buy any! Look for ones focusing on "basic yoga" or even yoga for pregnant women or the elderly. Both will likely be easy on the back. Also seek your doc's approval before starting.
your question has only been asked oh, say 4854 times on this board, so i'll only comment on one aspect of it.did you ever consider that the reason you have a bad back is because you can't do situps? anyway, you don't need situps to have a flat stomach. the abs and the back muscles are antagostic. when one contracts, the other relaxes. don't do situps, if you were born after 1965 you should know that they're bad for your back, idiot. do crunches. they'll strengthen your abs, which will take pressure off your back. and do cardio. it'll help you lose weight which will also help your back.
First of all, before anything else, go see a doctor/physio to correct your back if necessary. Second of all, here are a list of activities/exercises/lifestyle choices you can make to achieve your goal:- walking
- swimming
- cycling
- seated bike
- yoga
- pilates
- low-fat diet(as in low-fat way of life eating)
- be involved in sports
- no eating late at night
- no junk food, sweets etc/heavily reduced intake
- stretching ( particular butt, lower back, hips, front of hips, upper thighs, calf muscles - referred pain due to inflexibility of the ankles)
