Today I eat slim fast for breakfast and lunch and had some fruit and yogurt then dinner some slim fast and a little bit of salad. Right now I am hungry but I CAN'T EAT, because I am on a diet but tomorrow for lunch I am thinking about a tuna sandwich with cheese but there is mayo in that so I am scared to death to eat it and I don't think I am. This started off as a diet and I havn't been on it long but I think it is getting out of control. I am afraid to eat anything fatty because I don't want to gain back weight. Do you think I will be ok if I eat the tuna with mayo and cheese for lunch tomorrow? Do I have a problem?
Answer:
an eating disorder is characterized as any abnormal obsession with food and weight. if you are obsessing this much about food, it sounds like the beginning of what could be a serious eating disorder. i obsess about food all the time too. not two minutes go by in a day when im not obsessing about what i am or am not going to eat. tomorrow for lunch you will be fine eating tuna, just do it in a healthy way...mix it with light mayo and eat it on whole grain bread with just a tiny bit of low fat skim cheese. eat a small salad or a piece of fruit with it too or you might get hungry with just the sandwich and then you might get the urge to binge.
If you contuie this way, you will most likely develop anorexia. Talk to someone about this to get some help. You can not be afraid to eat food and to gain weight. My best advice would be to talk someone about this to sort this all out. And talk to a nutritonist if you would like to eat healthier.
Uh-oh!
This is looking like the beginning of an eating disorder.
Here's how to tell an eating disorder from a diet:
is when you are no longer in control of your eating habits and they are controlling you.
What is good is that you caught it yourself, and that you'll be more likely to overcome this with proffessional help.
Speak with someone close to you about this, and then decide whether you need to speak with a nutritionist.
